Ease and Flow: Transforming Tension

Join Poppy to help you transform patterns of tension and find more ease and flow in your body and mind.

Our bodies are a record of our past, an imprint of our life story. When we are stuck in regular states of stress, the brain begins to register tension habits as normal. Muscles remain contracted, knots in shoulders become the norm, our neck, hips, back are stiff and sore. All of this can have a knock on effect to our mental health, only exacerbating feelings of stress, anxiety or low energy.

In this two hour workshop we will explore:

  • Somatic movement exercises to help release common problem areas including the neck, shoulders, back and hips.
  • Vagus nerve exercises to calm the nervous system and release the neck and jaw.
  • Breathwork to expand the ribcage and belly aswell as promoting clarity and ease.
  • Meditation to allow for integration and deep rest.

This workshop is not suitable during pregnancy and some experience of yoga is beneficial.

Meet Poppy


Poppy has been teaching yoga for almost seven years, in studios and retreat centres in the UK and Indonesia. She taught her very first yoga class here at New Energy Yoga! Her own experience of yoga has been deeply healing and restorative for both body and mind. She teaches heart-led yoga practices with a focus on breathwork, allowing for deep releases of physical and mental tension.

Further training in yoga therapy for women’s health and somatic movement has deepened her understanding of yoga’s ability to heal. Most recently she has become a mother to Rafi and currently lives in Frome, Somerset.
