What is Hot Yoga?
Hot Yoga is a dynamic, heat-enhanced practice offered exclusively at our Winchester studio. The controlled warmth helps your body move more freely, encouraging deeper stretches and a stronger cardiovascular response while still feeling comfortable and supportive.
Our studio uses infrared heating, which gently warms the body from the inside out. This creates a soothing, sun-like effect on the skin that helps ease tight muscles, improve circulation, and promote a calm, focused mind - all without the risks associated with direct sun exposure.
What are the Benefits of the Heat?
- Your body will work harder in the heat and your metabolism will speed up, allowing you to burn up to 900 calories in an hour of Hot Yoga.
- The heat will increase the blood flow and oxygen to your skin, sweating out toxins and clearing the pores.
- Clinical trials have demonstrated that Hot Yoga can be very effective for treating the symptoms of depression.
- Infrared heat is also known to improve collagen production and skin elasticity, reduce fine lines and wrinkles and minimise acne scars.
- Infrared penetrates deeply into your muscles and joints, easing and soothing inflammation and stiff painful muscles, just like a deep-tissue massage. It has been proven to give pain relief from chronic conditions such as arthritis and fibromyalgia.
- Our body moves better when our muscles are warm allowing you to find more space in your practice and a deeper stretch.
Would it be right for me?
Just like any yoga class, you don’t need to be flexible to join. In fact, the heat will allow the muscles to relax.
People of all levels of fitness and experience can benefit hugely from Hot classes.
However, if you have a history of heart health concerns or high/low blood pressure, or have a condition that affects temperature regulation, Hot Yoga may not be for you and we would recommend consulting with a doctor first. It is also unsuitable during pregnancy.
