Hot Yoga 26 2 with Yoga Nidra

with Ayse Margossian

Detox. Reset. Restore.

This workshop begins with 90 minutes of Hot 26andamp;2 yoga - a precise and powerful sequence of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises, always practised in the same order. Known as Original Hot Yoga, it offers both a strong foundation for beginners and a deeper challenge for experienced practitioners. In the heat, the body opens, muscles lengthen, and focus sharpens. The practice builds strength and flexibility, supports detoxification through sweat, boosts circulation, aids calorie burn, and cultivates balance and mental clarity.

Yoga Nidra, also known as yogic sleep, is a guided meditation that induces a state of conscious relaxation between waking and sleeping. It promotes deep rest, reduces stress, and can improve sleep quality. Practitioners lie down in a comfortable position, often Śavāsana, and are guided through techniques such as body scans, breath awareness, and visualisation. After the intensity of Hot 26andamp;2, Yoga Nidra offers the counterpoint of quiet and calm - the perfect way to round off the week and step into a fresh start.

Practised in infrared heat, the sequence takes on an added dimension. Infrared works by warming the body directly from within, encouraging deeper muscle relaxation, improved circulation, and more effective detoxification. It can ease pain, support healing, and reduce inflammation, while also promoting a calm, grounded state of mind.

With autumn settling in and the days growing shorter, this workshop is designed as a seasonal reset - a much-needed boost to recharge both body and mind.

At the end, give yourself 10-15 minutes to stay in stillness, letting the benefits gently settle before returning to your day.

Please remember to bring your own towel and water bottle!

Meet Ayse

At the age of five, my mother introduced me to the daily meditation techniques she practiced, along with some asanas that we would practice together.

Years later, at university in 1998, I truly discovered the depth and breadth of yoga. I pursued my first teacher training in 2007, and have been teaching ever since. My love for Hot Yoga began in 2008 after my very first class in Paris; I decided to become a Bikram Yoga teacher in 2010 after qualifying in the United States.

I have travelled the world, joining workshops and Teacher Trainings with notable teachers such as David Swenson, Richard Freeman, Bryan Kest, Tias Little, Peter Sterios, Sarah Powers, Paul Grilley and Jo Phee, among others. I have also completed an MBCT Certification programme, a 10-day Vipassana Silent Meditation course, and many other retreats and trainings.

As a Senior Yoga Teacher accredited by both Yoga Alliance and Yoga Alliance Professionals, I specialize in hot yoga, yin yoga, and meditation.

Yoga is like an endless ocean—vast and boundless. I realise I will always be as much a student as I am a teacher. Currently, I am a postgraduate student at SOAS, University of London, in Traditions of Yoga and Meditation. Since 2019, I have also been deepening my practice in Yin Yoga and Mindfulness Meditation through the IYI program led by Sarah Powers.
