Pilates 101

with Kathleen Brenner

Pilates 101 workshop is designed for those looking to deepen their understanding of Pilates, in order to get the most out of their weekly classes. This workshop offers an exploration of the Pilates principles in a fun and relaxed environment.

In this 2-hour session, we will breakdown the fundamentals of alignment, breath and core engagement as well as delving into the importance of concentration, control, precision and flow. There will be movement throughout, finishing with a short Pilates class suitable for all levels where you can directly apply what you have learned in the session.

Whether you are brand new to Pilates or a regular in class, Pilates 101 offers a supportive space to expand your knowledge so that you can safely and effectively perform exercises.

Bring a pen and paper if you would like to take notes, come in your active wear, and leave with a newfound confidence to take into your next class.

This workshop is not suitable during pregnancy.

Meet Kathleen

Growing up I was in multiple dance classes a week, training for local and national competitions. Fast forward to university; I’d stopped dancing or exercising regularly and found myself completely neglecting my health and fitness.

Thankfully, I found my way back and Pilates played a huge role in helping me regain love and respect for my body. This respect only grew when I studied anatomy and physiology as part of my Pilates teacher training in 2024. I am now hugely passionate about health and wellbeing and am excited to continue furthering my understanding and knowledge.

My classes are mixed ability, with modifications offered to get you working at whatever level you’re at. With regular sessions you will see an increase in strength, mobility, flexibility and confidence!

I look forward to seeing you on the mat.
